Israel Pulled Out Of Gaza in 2005, what happened?

Israel pulled its army and 9000 residents out of Gaza in 2005, and the Palestinians response ? They voted Hamas (who vow to destroy Israel) into power and proceeded to fire over 65,000 rockets, mortars and incendiaries indiscriminately at Israeli civilian areas, and the Oct 7th atrocities crossed all red lines.

For 8 months from 2005 into 2006 there was no blockade against Hamas by Israel and Egypt.

This chain of events which basically made a failed Palestinian state has left Israelis with the profound realization that land for peace with Palestinians is not a simple solution.
